Brazilian Truffles – Chocolate

Ingredients

  • 1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 ounce bittersweet chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon salted butter, plus more for your hands
  • chocolate sprinkles, for decorating

Instructions

In a non-stick saucepan, heat the condensed milk, chocolate, and butter over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until thick and shiny, about 15 to 18 minutes.

Spread mixture in a shallow dish to cool for 15 minutes, then chill in the refrigerator.

Arrange small paper candy cups on a work surface; pour sprinkles in a shallow bowl.

Butter your hands, then form rounded teaspoonfuls of the mixture into a ball.  Roll each ball in the sprinkles, then drop into a waiting cup.

Serve the truffles at room temperature or slightly chilled.  Store refrigerated.
