You can make this as hot and spicy as you like. Using a can of Rotel tomatoes will make the chili hotter, otherwise it is not really hot.
Hominy Turkey Chili
Ingredients
- 2 Pounds Ground turkey
- 2 pound hominy
- 1 pound corn
- 16 ounces diced tomatoes or a can of Rotel tomatoes
- 1 pound cooked black beans, drained
- 1 pound cooked pinto beans, drained
- 2 tablespoons dried parsley
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- 2 teaspoons dried dill weed
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup water
Instructions
Brown meat and drain off fat (if using leftover turkey, skip this step).
Place all ingredients in slow cooker and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
Top with shredded cheese and serve with corn chips or tortillas, if desired.
Serves 8-10.
